Every seven days, on the Green at Crumble Top
Come for your week’s bread, stay for the gossip. Pots that don’t leak, rope that doesn’t slip, eggs so rich they shame your neighbour’s hens. Best cider south of the ridge (if you can stand). Carrots bigger than your arm, though no one knows what the Berricks feed them. All honest wares, all fair measure — more or less.
✦ Top of the Top ✦
The pride of Kiln Green — goods spoken of beyond the ridge, and worth the walk to see.
Stoneware ~ Master-cut at the Ridge
Grindstones, querns, and carved pieces — the craft that built the ridge
Rope ~ Jespa Hardle
Hemp and tar, twisted strong. Holds fast, holds long.
Cider ~ Farmer Drell
Drawn from his own press. Stronger than most men stand.
Vegetables ~ From Berricks Farm
Stoutest from the ridge soil, full baskets every season. Judge for yourself.

This Season
Flags will be raised for The Budding Day, when winter’s grip is loosed and the first greens are cut.
A seed swap follows in early spring — slips of leek, onion sets, and a few beans traded from hand to hand.
Regulars on the Green
Lime by the sack
Steady white for mortar, wash, and field
Eggs (Osric Pell)
Fresh from the river strip, counted fair in your hand.
Wool (Sibyl Sudley)
Cut and papered, beast-shapes to light the dark nights.
Staples & Spares
Grain, bread, spoons, handles — plain goods, steady and enough.
Herbs & Remedies (Lowen Foss)
A newer face on the green, with simples and tinctures modest but fair.
Travelling Traders
Sea-salt, beads, and bright powders now and then. All are welcome, and coin’s counted fair for traveller and local alike.

Wanted at Market
The stewards call for quality wares not reliably seen on the green:
Cooking pots deep enough for stews.
Handles of ash or oak, well-seasoned, for hoes and spades.
Small farm tools for mending fences and pens.
Rushlights and pottery lamps, to keep the evenings bright.
