Overview
Among the Evergild Fae, where wealth and dominion have corrupted many once-pure callings, House of Scholars stands apart. They are the keepers of memory, researchers of forgotten lore, and guardians of the Evergild’s crumbling intellectual wealth.
Founded in the earliest days of the Evergild, they believe that true power lies not in coin or conquest, but in knowledge preserved and wielded with precision. Through ancient records, lost languages, and whispered secrets, they shape the future from the ashes of the past.
Their influence remains potent, though their focus on history — once the pride of the realm — is now often dismissed as outdated. Yet the scions of House Scholars endure, weaving history, diplomacy, and law into weapons sharper than any blade.
They are both respected and feared, for an archivist forgets nothing — and the oldest grievances are carved into memory deeper than any stone.

Domain
The sprawling seat of House Scholars is known simply as The Library, dominating the city’s oldest and most labyrinthine quarter. Endless towers and bridges, parchment-scented halls, and domed reading chambers stretch across a forgotten landscape of learning.
It is said that the walls themselves listen, and that secrets spoken within the Library are never truly lost.
Beyond the city, however, lies another dwelling tied to the Scholars — The Palace of Vaevessaire. Nestled in the heart of an ancient glade once ruled by trees, not fae, this part-time residence is a place of ceremonial retreat and seasonal splendour. Though it began as a moss-walled cottage built by a quiet branch of the Avenloré line, it has since grown into a gilded echo of the Library’s grandeur — all mirror-lakes, arched halls, and ivy-laced ballrooms. Now technically owned by the head of House Avenloré (currently Lord Theridian Avenloré), it is rarely used by them directly, its halls instead maintained by distant kin. Still, some call it the Cottage, whether with irony or reverence, for Vaevessaire remains a place where memory lives and the past listens back

Whispers of Note
- The Compendium, at the heart of the Library, houses books that bleed or whisper when opened without the proper rites.
- Some among the younger generation seek to break the chains of dusty preservation — to wield history itself as a living, changing force.
