The Evergild Fae

The Evergild Fae are a race of fae bound to nobility, wealth, and legacy. As the merchant rulers of the realm, they built their power not through war, but through commerce, influence, and mastery of knowledge. Their presence commands respect, their words carry weight, and their deals are as binding as fate itself.

Once, the fae were creatures of nature—tied to riverbanks, starlight, and ancient groves. But over generations, they were corrupted by greed and power. The Evergild Fae rose from this shift, building noble houses where mastery of a craft or domain earned one status. In time, however, this merit-based system became hereditary and insular, with families intermarrying and hoarding influence to preserve their power. Though corrupted, the old magic lingers, and some fae still feel the call of their wilder ancestry.

Among the Evergild Fae, appearance is not mere ornament — it is a visible manifestation of magic, strength, and ancestral pride.

They are known for their otherworldly beauty, their features unmistakably touched by ancient magic.
Hair and eyes bloom in hues unseen among mortals: greens, silvers, blues, lavenders, golds, and more.
All Evergild bear a faint, natural shimmer, as if brushed with starlight or dusted in molten gold — a subtle gleam that clings to their skin, whispering of a bond to forces older than memory.
Some among the lesser folk even whisper that the Evergild once bore wings of light and magic, long since faded into legend.

By their very nature, the Evergild are born with skin touched by vivid, unnatural hues — from violet to jade, rose to sky-blue.
This brilliance is more than beauty:
Maintaining one’s true colour is a continual act of magic and strength.

  • To hold their natural, radiant skin is to proclaim one’s power and nobility — a living proof of belonging to the Evergild.
  • To adopt muted, human-like tones is easier — conserving magical energy for times of need.

Thus, in the gilded streets and halls of Lindral, one sees a living tapestry:

  • Some Evergild shimmer proudly, their skins aglow in lavender, gold, or emerald.
  • Others walk in muted grace, their light banked beneath more mortal hues.

Both are choices — but in Evergild society, every choice speaks volumes.

In formal court sessions, great ceremonies, and Council gatherings, Evergild are expected to unveil their true colours fully.

During diplomacy, battle, or travel among lesser folk, masking one’s shimmer is not shameful — it is strategy.

Each noble house within the Evergild Fae rules over a domain of society—banking, craftsmanship, magic, warfare, nature, secrets, or scholarship. These houses are both political powers and cultural institutions, shaping the identity of the realm, all ran through The Evergild Council.
