“Of course, I wouldn’t dream of naming names. That would be vulgar.”

Race: Lesser fae (secret)
Marital Status: Married to Bertram Vance, amateur botanist
Quote most likely to precede disaster:
“She meant well, I’m sure.”
To the untrained eye, Pellinette Vance is a confection of flounces and florals. A regular fixture in Lindral’s salons and springtime soirées, she is known for her pastel gowns, lilac ink, and signature curls that never seem out of place—even in rain. She claims this is due to good breeding. Others whisper enchantment.
In truth, Pellinette is a lesser fae of unspoken lineage who presents unwaveringly as human. Only her husband knows the truth — an amateur botanist who believes she has no reason to be ashamed of her ancestry. Pellinette disagrees, and does not waver. The disguise is part of her elegance, part of her armour, and above all, part of her control.
Her column, Between the Ribbons, is nominally about fashion and social affairs, but readers have learned to decipher its true meanings between the lines. If a certain baron’s boutonnière drooped at a gala, or a minor noble tripped on a ballroom step, Pellinette will describe it with such exquisite politeness it leaves reputations trembling.
She has never published anything she cannot defend with a smile.
Despite her dainty prose, she is not to be underestimated. Pellinette knows everything worth knowing in Lindral, and more importantly, she knows how to phrase it. She is often described as “delightful”. Rarely by those she writes about.
