Human Power: The Magic of Unclouded Being
Humans, in this world, have no spellcraft. No enchantments. No seer’s eye. But the few who live in full congruence — who do not mask, manipulate, or distort their truth — seem to radiate something almost brighter than magic.
They:
- Align thought, word, and action.
- Reflect the Hum back cleanly, without distortion.
- Serve as anchors for others — not by charm or will, but by simply being fully here.
They don’t change the world.
They return it to itself.
✨ Comparison: Other Races and Magic
- Fae often carry inherent magic, but its form depends on lineage, place, and house.
Some wield beauty like a weapon. Others carry illusion, elemental sway, or language-magic. But their systems have been formalised — regulated and refined over time by the Evergild, and especially the House of Spires. - Elves wield magic that refines — long-lived, ceremonial, structured, often masking what’s real in favour of what is precise.
- Beasts and deep spirits hold magic that embodies — primal, instinctive, often unknowable.
But humans — or rather, rare humans — don’t shape or refine or mask.
They reflect.
And if they do so cleanly enough, for long enough, the world appears to tune to them — like a bowl singing when struck in the right place.
“We have our own magic.
Stories that transport the mind and transform the heart.
Love that binds, pushes us beyond what’s possible.
A kinship with all life, woven from respect and the knowing that we began together.”

Magical folk
Aside from this attunement, there are a handful of tribes and individuals who belong to groups with specific links to magic:
1. Sacred Place Stewards “The Vythans“
3. The Wisefolk
4. Mountain Folk (The High Morna)
Humans and the Evergild
Humans lived in Gildraen before it was claimed by the Evergild Fae. They live in relative harmony, though the Evergild see humans as a much lower status (only one step above the Lesser Fae). Humans work and apprentice for the fae, though some fae knowledge is fiercely guarded and the most sacred sites are out of bounds of to them.
The Evergild control and licence all aspects of life to a fine degree, under the guise of ‘guidance’. As such the humans have a few sayings:
“Guided by fae, shafted just the same”
“They guide us like a rut guides a wheel”
