The Evergild Council

The Evergild Council stands as the highest authority among the noble Houses of the Evergild. It is composed of the Heads of the Seven Great Houses — Scholars, Coin, Craft, Spires, Steel, Whispers and Beasts — who together “guide” the realm, though they are careful never to call it “rule.”

In theory, all Houses hold equal power, and decisions are made through debate, negotiation, and majority vote. The Council prides itself on the appearance of unity and equality, embodied by the round table where all Houses are seated without precedence. Yet among the lesser folk of the realm, it is often whispered that while the seats may be equal, the voices are not.

Septastra Seat, the Council’s sanctum, rises at the very crown of Lindral Citadel — a vast, many-spired monument of white stone veined with gold. Though its name suggests simplicity, there is nothing modest about the seat of Evergild power. Within its marble halls lie the Council Chamber, the Petitioner’s Court, and a warren of antechambers where diplomacy often gives way to manipulation.

No singular ruler presides. Instead, each Head of House speaks for their own lineage and interests, and alliances shift as quickly as river currents. Behind the polished debates of Council meetings lies a constant web of rivalries, bargains, and quiet power struggles.
